..... a hard one at Brooky. We need a credible performance to seriously resurrect any 2015 challenge. I maintain we're a better unit than the 'table' suggests. Using injury as an excuse don't sit with me, sure we had our share, but so have other clubs and they may well have a greater representation at 'Origin' than the Panthers. It's time we stood up and were counted. Have we got it ?

..... The penalties are killin us, in fact the penalties are killing the game. There are too many inconsistencies from game to game for the fans to have any chance of comprehending. Not looking good for Penrith.

Manly are looking a lot sharper than us at the moment, especially in attack. We are lucky to be as close as we are at the moment.

....... 6 down at the break is a bloody miracle the way we're playing. Can Manly keep up the intensity? The game will be decided in the first 20 of the second half.

Bloody hell moylan. Try assist, a goal and a field goal. Its a shame he missed those 2 conversions, but in the end we still won. Shame about Gennings, but hopefully Whare is back, so we can go back to a slightly more familiar back line.

Guess that means Simmons will stay in the top grade.

And is that even a bad thing?

He may not have the pace a lot of clubs would want from their wingers, but his positioning, for the first try especially, is a very underrated part of wingers nowadays due to set plays.

Plus very reliable in the air.

An ugly win, but a beautiful two points, just like last year.

Terrible performance by Penrith, great to get another win though. What's wrong with Segeyaro, I realise he just came back from injury but was not going all that well beforehand?

To me it looked like segs did his Hammy. He was up and moving around on the bench so maybe its not as serious. it was one of those injuries where you just stop. Hope hes ok

Sure they butchered some chances but 83% completion rate isn't to bad. Great performance by Moylan & McKendry stepped up again to run 180 odd metres. Shame about George but nothing surprises me with the serious injuries we seem to continually get.

Bring on the slimey eels.......

Segeyaro's service from dummy half was very poor at the start of the game, a lot of passes up near players heads and checked a lot of their runs.

Api is definitely suited a lot better to dummy half than in the halves. He played really well when segeyaro went off the field.

I still believe Segeyaro is by far our number one hooker but he is down a bit on form, hopefully he gets back to his best in the next few weeks!

A very subdued win but very excited to be back in the winners circle!! Bring on the Bye

How good is Moylan ?

A scrappy game which Manly weren't good enough to close out and we were too gritty to lose.

I thought our bench did an excellent job tonight and our forwards were definitely on top by the end of the game. Enjoyed Plums game immensely, toughest forward on the field.

The loss Manly experienced tonight is one we would be familiar with as Penrith supporters over the years. Mostly the better team but a bit of class from the opposition (Moylan) is enough to take the game away.

An incredibly valuable 2 points with a nice break until the Eels game. Hopefully we'll get a couple more players back and build our cohesion in attack.

A couple of points:
-Segyaro needs a spell in reggies. He is is hopelessly out of form and he hampers our attack. He is trying too hard and seems to think he is Jonathan Thurston, Cement Gillespie and Cameron Smith all rolled into one. Stop it mate. We don't need miracle plays from you, miracle chargedowns, or, massive hits. Just do your job like you used to do. Let the halves do their jobs.

-Cleary has a new tactic where Moylan goes to dummy half when we bring the ball out of our own 20. He was very effective because he passes smoothly and also steps clear of the ruck putting the defence in two minds. A great idea and I hope Ivan persists with it. We are far better when he did that and Segyaro had a rest.

-If Moylan can continue to run the ball back like he did last night, he will move into the upper echelon of fullbacks. He hit line hard and made more metres than Stewart on kick returns. Considering he is at least half a yard slower than Stewart that is no mean feat.

-Did anybody notice the little scuffle where Mason got angry and tried to get hold of RGC? Mason was sort of intimating that he was going to smash RGC. Next set, RGC ran straight at Mason. And again. And again. No MG style fireworks, just sheer determination not to be intimidated. RGC is top dog in the forwards now. What a debut year!

Poor George, he was really playing well. Let's hope it is a clean break and he doesn't need an operation like Carty.
