Good move if Johns is out but I would prefer Will Smith to 5/8, Moss to fullback please.
And Blake-. That was two months of watching 16 professional footballers play with crusty the clown. All hands and feet and always trying to entertain the opposition with his juggling.
Nothing much to look forward too, on this game. Probably Cartwright if he is at 5/8.

I imagine being a Warriors fan is the equivalent to going to bed with a hot model once a year, every year but instead of actually getting down to business with her, he keeps building himself up, "you know i once won a fist fight with a polar bear in sub zero conditions.", only to end up opening your eyes to see that along with the model, your chances of hitting the jackpot went out the door."oh well, at least i still remember touching her thigh back in 2011.".He's bought a kick ass suit for next season, along with getting a new hair cut.But we all know that the exact same thing will happen again next season.

Hope during easier origin period then the annual fade.

Last week against Parramatta we were flat because we were spent against Souths from the week before. We gave it everything to a point that it was no wonder we were a shambles against the Eels.

But tonight, the players had a chance to well and truly redeem themselves in the best possible way.

Sure they could have encapsulated after the Warriors scored those two quick tries. But we held on,we didn't lose our composure for most of the part, and they did us immensely proud.

All in all,you have to look at periods in a season, and dissect them and figure out which parts were good, which parts were bad,and which parts really stood out that really bonded the players together.

And my choice would be that if you grouped this bracket of Souths,Parramatta and Warriors games of 2015 as a whole package, you wouldn't go wrong if,in the future you needed something inspirational to draw from.

The Panthers need to think about a 5/8 for next year. Wallace's career could be over. Even if it isn't, he already old.
Yeah I know he is club captain. They let Luke Lewis go because he hardly ever played. Just a money ball situation. You really can't afford to have a key position filled by a player who is always out. AND why is the Panthers out of the player market. They should be looking now for another 5/8. Issac John is obviously not an option - they don't even want to put him in even with a massive injury toll.
Just a note about Will Smith he doesn't physically look any different from last year. But he is obviously is in a different head space. He looks like he wants to be part of the action as apposed to last year when he looked like he was just making up the numbers. But he is never going to be our fullback with Moylan and DWZ there. Bring Moss in and put Smith to 5/8. There out of the running so they have nothing to lose. To administration - 5/8 - 5/8- 5/8 - 5/8- 5/8 - 5/8.

I think they're going to put Te Maire Martin in the halves with Soward next year.He got seven try assists yesterday. It was only the 20's, but it's those type of performances that might tempt us to put him in the top grade.

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN.

Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Sam McKendry, Jeremy Latimore, Nigel Plum, Leilani Latu, James Seheyaro and Apisai Koroisai take a bow. Credit for last night’s bruising win over the Warriors should sit fairly and squarely on the broad shoulders of the Panthers front row rotation. They led the charge in both attack and defense for the entire 80 minutes and showed that if forwards do in fact win competitions, our future looks very bright indeed. I wouldn’t swap Campbell-Gillard and McKendry for any starting prop in the NRL. With St. George metre eater Trent Merrin coming in for Nigel Plum next season and the wonderfully talented young Soni Luke the logical replacement as back-up hooker for the Manly bound Koroisai, our forward stocks have never looked rosier. What is even more remarkable about last night’s performance is that it was achieved with three of our most talented forwards playing in the backline.

Considering we had back-rowers playing in the centres and at 5/8 the backline functioned remarkably well. It wasn’t ideal but they certainly made the best of a very bad situation. Wingers Simmons and Mansour got good ball and had great games. Simmons in particular was a rock under the high ball and saved the day on numerous occasions, showing incredible poise and courage under fire.

Peachey, I thought, had a much better game than in recent weeks. He’s got a lot of flaws in his play but he’s also got a shit-load load of natural ability. He’s not a starting player but as an impact player coming off the bench, you couldn’t wish for a more dynamic contributor. If he can put on a couple of more kilos and overcome his inclination to back himself on every single occasion, he’ll be a world beater. Cartwright had an excellent game. He made a great fist of 5/8 and not unexpectedly gave excellent service to his outside men. He also took on the line, with plenty of aggression when necessary and most gratifying of all, put in a very solid defensive effort.

Work-a-hollic captain Elijah Taylor, despite taking a heavy knock early in proceedings must have made over 50 tackles in one of his trademark relatively unnoticed yet dominant performances. He’s the ultimate competitor and must be an absolute inspiration to his young charges. It’s little wonder that so many of our young-gun forwards nominate him as their role model. While on the subject of inspiration, surely Nigel Plum must be one of, if not the most inspirational/courageous players ever to wear a Panthers jersey. How he gets out of bed in the morning, let alone turn up for training and matches is beyond my comprehension. He had a great game last night. He’s a gentleman and a wonderful ambassador for the game. A tackling coach’s position at this club, in life after football, would be a fitting reward for this genuine Panther icon. I’m pleased he’s made the decision to announce his retirement now, no-one deserves to go out on a big win as much as “Pluumy”.

Jamie Soward’s game last night was one of his best this season. He went about his business in a cool unhurried professional manner that must have given great confidence to the makeshift team he had built around him. It’s difficult to miss Sam Tomkins at the back, he’s a great positional player, but in the main, Soward kicked with pin point accuracy, if not always with a great deal of luck, and his overall passing, running and management of play was decisive and very effective.

I’d love to see Will Smith get another run at 5/8 before the season ends. Fullback is a very specialist position and even though he’s made a pretty good fist of it, he’s obviously not as comfortable there as he would be in the halves. Now that Kieran Moss is back fit and firing in the reserves and there is an obvious vacancy at 5/8, now is the ideal time to make the switch. Moss is an outstanding young fullback and deserves his opportunity in first grade. He’s heading off to the English Super League at the end of the season and a much deserved promotion to first grade would be a fitting reward for this incredibly talented local junior.

24-10 probably wasn’t a true reflection of the game. Make no mistake, the Panther dominated the giant Warriors outfit and with a bit more luck, a different couple of referees and a dry track in the second half, 40-10 wouldn’t have been out of the question.

RCG penalised for a head clash, leads to a Warriors try.

Warriors tackled in goal, Chris James and Ashley Klein for some reason think he's still in play, Warriors score right afterwards.

Peachey runs sideways causing a Warriors player to completely slip over, but we get penalised because apparently he could have still tackled Peachey whilst he was lying on the ground five metres away from him(granted the dive for the try line was a little pre-mature).

The f***?!?!

To quote one of my favourite movies, watching them two referee last night was like "watching a bunch of retards trying to f*** a doorknob."

Shazza,

To my absolute dismay I read that Kieren Moss signed a 1 year deal with the EELS.... What a shame!

Good to celebrate a win. Good team affort, that is hard to line up, as the warriors appeared to be pathetic & last week we lost to a team that played the worst ever game of NRL!!

RCG - wow how good is this guy going to be. As others posted we had 3 backrowers playing in the backline & we had a FB that wouldn't normally be there, so it was good to make some line breaks & the bombed tries didn't cost us in the end.
The pastor is now playing better than at any time in his career.

We shoud win a couple more before seasons end & move onto 2016 with some promise. We need to find another half to team with JS.

Can't close without stating the obvious - those 2 clowns with the whistles put on a master class on how NOT to referee an NRL game - I totally despair at how poor the game officials are.

Bring on the dragoons :-)

What' is the chance of our "other half" being moylan next year? I want it so badly. It just sort of gets the best out of the players that we have. Wallace is a great leader, but the poor bugger can't catch a break. Apart from those two games against Tigers and Souths i would say he has been pretty average in the games that he has played for us.

Full off season of DWZ at fullback and Moylan at 5/8 would be great. It also means we get a Gennings/any outside back on the wing which further capitalises on the talent that we have in our backline.

One day...

Great effort from the boys - Obviously still no where near our best but with the players out of position we couldn't have asked any more of them - Happy Panther fan

IC must have trouble sleeping at night, we produce the effort v Souths, then that diabolical "effort" or lack there of against the feather weenies and then basically pump the warriors pack.

Admittedly without Johnson, but after Parra you would have thought the Warriors would aim up, but no we give it to em.

It boggles the mind that a professional team can be so inept one week then somewhat clinical the next.......O'h sometimes it's the weather

IMO,the Souths game was approached and prepared by the Players as their grand final.

We simply were spent after that game, and it showed in the Parra match although Parra weren't much chop and only took the game with two minutes on the clock.

The luck we had last year simply has abandoned us for this season.I can't think of a better description for the year we have had.

All the excuses "under the sun" but at the end of the day, it's simply not good enough from a professional team.

I agree 1967 that being so up for a game one week can drain you, but we played a pathetic Parra and still looked very very ordinary, for me there are no excuses to produce such an inept performance.

Problem I have is wondering who or what performance will be on display tonight against the drag queens, it scares me that I am about to witness (potentially) another Parra like effort, you shouldn't have that fear as a supporter, you should at least know you will get a wholehearted effort week in week out from the 17 selected.

Is that too much to ask?

What we needed last week vs Eels was to do the basics right and we would have won. If Simmons played on the wing instead of Blake, he would have scored that first try that Blake's leg went into touch before he grounded it. The great thing baout having an actual winger on your team is their finishing abilities.

Also Will Smith should have scored his try in a one on one with Reece Robinson (not the best devensive fullback). But we seem to do that well, a couple of disallowed or bombed tries per game consistently.

But lastly Will Smith having his back turned on Reece Robinson for that last try gave Robinson the start he needed. You need to always be alert as a fullback and never turn your back on the play. But that's what happens when your 3rd choice fullback is actually a 5/8 playing out of position.
