Hope so mate.

We're due a comfortable result.

Hope the players don't even play close to the level of the Titans game or the first 50 minutes at Brookvale.

Considering how Souths have been playing and their absences, a competent performance sprinkled with some class should do the job nicely.

Inexcusable to not pick up the two points tonight.

Wish I could be out there in the cold with you all, but unfortunately not possible tonight. Maybe I will turn the heater off & open my window in an attempt to re-create the conditions :woohoo:

32-8 you say Mutley. Really whilst commendable who gives a xxxx hoot?

Firsts is the game that counts and unless our much lauded 'academy' starts to pump out a few premierships,
Then we've missed the point, lost the plot and have wasted money on imports not worth a brass razoo.

Another heart stopper!!!

We are still letting in soft tries & giving away dumb penalties, but we are looking better in attack.

Couple of soft tries at the end but great to get another win. Outstanding play by Cartwright and Cleary. Good news regarding Mansour re-signing. Both Sauce and Moylan played very well after backing up from SOO.

Go the Panthers.

Heart attack game, again. I've asked before and I'll ask again....Do we have anyone in the team with any brains? Game management, close the game done for heaven sake.

That end of the game fade out, in my opinion was not as bad as our other ones.
1.If Mansour had been given that try it would of been game over. It did look like Mansour interfered with him live, But on replay it looked like a legitimate challenge. If he had given it a try first up, the try would of been awarded.
2. Then the refs went to the video of ref on Souths first comeback try. Why did they go to the video. Because it was last tackle it helped Souths set up for a set play. Moylan should of known it was going to be a "hail mary" and should of moved away from the ruck - he had plenty of time to think about it.
3. On the short kick of I didn't think we knocked on. If they didn't call it, I am pretty sure we would of scored or gone for a field goal, once again game over.
In summary of that last ten minutes, I thought there was some pretty shitty calls and that really sucks if the other team is putting a lot of high risk stuff on, that keeps coming up trumps with the help of the refs.
4 Souths played way better than they have and except for the last ten minutes we were doing them like a dinner. I watched fox sports they said Souths had been completing in the %60 range for months. Tonight they were in the %80. Burgess had been crap but tonight he was there best.
I thought the Panthers were better except for 3rd tackle kicks when we got onto a roll in the first half. Why WHY did he do that!! with the way the game was travelling. Took us of the roll and bought them back. This is why we don't put teams to the sword. It didn't make any football sense even before he muffed the kicks.

We always had them covered yet only won by two points. Hugely disappointing last six minutes after the great work done to get ourselves 14 in front.

Once our new recruit arrives, slot him straight into centre, get Sowie back in the team at 5/8 and start playing our top 17 in there best positions.

This makeshift approach can only work for so long. Even allowing for the absence of Hiku and Whare the competition for places is going to prove a nightmare for Griffin in the last 10 or so games of the regular season.

I have an idea of what I would do, particularly in relation to the forward rotation. For a start Matagi would not be in my top 17 but that's just me.

Phew......just again!

Cleary is showing he is all class.

The kid defends well and Souths big boppers were running at him and hitting him hard but he remains calm and has plenty to offer in attack with kicks, runs and passing PLUS his kicking for goal.

NOTE to Richo......Soward will NEVER make it into our first 17 again save for any major injuries.

On the most critical part of our game........game management

we just have none and NO ONE to take on the role of Captain to manage our game.

I mentioned earlier i would take the Captaincy from Moylan......we need an older level head to get us through and for the team to follow and listen to the Captain.

Like the dumb response to the Souths non awarded try and they kick in goal to score......like where was the management to say boys we have to defend and lets be alert to repel last tackle and potential hail mary kick.

The other issue is these "forced" passes from players in hopeless positions gifting the ball to the opposition plus this stupid mindset of kicking for kicking sake as Cartwright defaults to when he thinks HE is out of options.

There is nothing to take out of last nights game at all.......except the 2 points

as a team there is no cohesion, no game management, no discipline and to be honest we go to frantic mode instead of doing the grafting hard work then unleash the likes of Cleary, Moylan and Mansour

Mansour was huge last night even mores after backing up from Wed but Cleary was and is a clear standout for me.

Souths to their credit were better but they had to be but still fell short and there game exploded when they went into frantic mode but as Ricky Stuart exposed earlier this year Panthers are ripe for slaughter in the last 10 minutes and again this was exposed last night.

I look forward to McKendry coming back as he may straighten our forward attack and hold the centre better then we are doing.....and i welcome Hardaker and will be interested to where he slots in.

In fact if he moves to centre as reported i would move Carty back to 2nd row and move Peachy to 5/8

We need to begin to settle on a forward pack and bring cohesion and certainty to the pack.

Backs are mostly settled with the inclusion of Hardaker.

If we can just settle, remove the dumb penalties and implement some game management i believe we can go deep in this competition.

Which leads to the most important question......can Griffin coach?

Poor ending, lovely build-up to some of the tries.Imagine us when Martin comes back in a few weeks time. That'll send Cartwright back to his usual defending position which will strengthen us defensively.

When Mansour re-signing was announced he got pumped up on the field.Really has something for the club.

Needs to be mentioned, Merrin's stats were un-f*cking-believable.

Anyone who is suggesting recalling Soward to first grade is as moronic as most of our players...

Gee I'm glad everyone agrees with my comment of no 'game management'......Even our 200 gamer was woeful ie he ran the ball on the last tackle near their line and handed over possession instead of kicking in goal to get a repeat set possibly. I like Moylan but he is too 'nice' and doesn't have that bit of mongrel in him.Looked very good close to the play but looked to be in the wrong position in defence.
