The Panthers are heading north of the border to Brisbane in this Fridays match with the Brisbane Broncos. The Bronco have rediscovered their form against the Rabbitohs last week and despite a few names missing will the a tough contest for the Panthers. The Panthers struggled for structure last week against the Eels, but in a brilliant 20 minute display put a end to the Eels season, even so, the Broncos will be far less forgiving in defense.

The NYC Panthers remain unbeaten for 15 games in a row and already secured their spot in the Holden Cup finals, but will look put the pressure on the 9th placed Broncos with the Panthers squad almost back to full strength.

The NSW Cup team has the bye.

Best performance of the year. When we play it straight through the forwards we are a lot harder to stop.

i disagree

its hats off to the players in how they executed the game plan

The coach never makes a tackle or line break but he needs the team to believe in him and his tactics.

Maybe just maybe tonight proved to the boys what is possible IF

I agree on the effort and result........20 rounds to expose what is possible

It was a performance to remember for tonight

You know one can't sat Blake is a Thurston but what was memorable was how we adjusted when he left the field just like the Cowboys last night

Makes you salivate as to what is possible

Everyone's dissecting the performance, but forgetting that we actually won a game by 13+.Imagine saying before the season started that it would happen at Suncorp.

People that bagged us for the money Merrin's on can take a hike.249 metres, 33 tackles and a try.Freak.

Now, instead of getting our hopes up to astronomical levels, let's focus on doing one thing and one thing only. All year we've either had an equal or lower amount of wins to losses. The whole f*cking year.Every time i see the ladder and our record it gives me the shits.

Next week, up against Warriors...let's break this shitty trend.

That "1st grade" performance was a "truck load" better.

Still a few things to iron out, and some areas to improve  but overall, very satisfying to watch.

It will be Milford to Boyd, to Oates we have to watch. Opacic will tip on if required and Glenn will run a block.
Milford also has a mean left foot step and a keen eye for a gap, combine that with blistering acceleration and you have a weapon.
Our ruck defence has to anticipate him throwing a dummy and cutting back.(EVERY TIME HE GETS THE BALL)(same with Hunt)

Roberts will get early ball and try to combine speed with change of direction, peach needs his line speed to be "on tap" all night.

They're definitely looking to use this game as momentum. They punched the rabbits. But, Melbourne exploited them in a HUGE way.

We need to limit their time with the ball. (Keep it as much as we can)(force repeat sets, complete our sets, get to our kicks etc)
Jam in defensively when we have them on their line, "get up" in a straight line, get numbers in tackles.

Thaiday will look to get quick PTB's by running on the fringes, they work a lot off those types of plays.
Broncs play their best when they dominate the ruck/2nd phase (Parker).
Their metre eaters power through the ruck. (Oates also comes looking when they need an extra forward)

Count numbers on our line, no shooters, move up together, communicate.

In attack, when at their end, move the ball away from Milfords side on the 4th (if we haven't scored by then), then Cleary, to put a shallow, cross field bomb straight at Milford. Blake can use his height to out jump him. Similar to what Cronk did with Vunivalu. (That takes Boyd out of the equation)(the kick has to be pin point, otherwise it gives Oates an easy grab)

Get in the arm wrestle early, withstand their attempts to win the ruck and attack their bench when it comes on.

Play smart..

I'm looking for an "assistant couch" if anyone's interested.. :woohoo: :P

Actually, "Pomoz" was the only one who liked (said Thankyou) to this game plan, so he gets the job. :P

Wow, I'm flattered number one in a field of one! But as Len Stacker told me when I played for Emu Plains "you frickin useless pommy bastard, you don't have a clue about the game. Just grab the ball and run". I'll deliver your messages to the team, put out the bibs and cones and cut the oranges for half time.

I'll also make sure the cheerleaders are ok. Someone has to......

be a bloody big couch....to fit so many "couches" on game day

Talent always has a way of working its way to the top.

A little like cream hey but when its off its terrible but when its just right its perfect

One job done on the couch now to make this our natural game.

Now its onto warrior land where the giants live waiting for the Panthers to arrive

Is anyone going to congratulate the much maligned Anthony Griffin for a job well done?
Because which ever way you look at it, it was a remarkable turn around in form from the young Panthers.
An 8-2 win record against Wayne Bennett is a remarkable statistic for any coach to have in their CV.

Obviously a great performance. Didn't see that coming, I was like the cat that ate the canary, watching it.
BUT
The Broncos attack looked like our attack from a month ago. Utterly crap.
Someone out there played 20minutes and dropped the ball 3 times and knocked himself out, where he again dropped the ball.
AND
Whoever hit Mansour late when he was lying prone on the ground, with a swinging arm to the head should get 6 weeks.
Corey Parker should retire tomorrow, He's become an arrogant shit head.

Fantastic win, still cant get the smile of my face. Congratulations to all the players and coach. Difference between last night and last week was chalk and cheese. More of last night please.

Future looks bright if they can maintain that consistency. Good times ahead for long suffering Panthers fans.

Good support at the ground too from what i saw on tv.

That was Josh McGuire that hit Mansour with a swinging arm to the head while he was down. A front rower putting a dog shot like that on a winger, what a grub!

I was hoping one of the boys ironed him out (in my head it was going to be Matagi), but in hindsight I am glad the boys just stuck to their guns and put on a clinical performance.
