The 20’s had another good win on the weekend against a pretty strong looking Broncos outfit. While not quite as impressive as last week’s demolition of the Bulldogs, 48-16 is not exactly a close run thing and again they won the contest all over the park.

Lightweight 5/8 Jarome Luai had a ball running off Nathan Cleary, they’re forming a wonderful partnership, and of course he had the benefit of playing behind a very mobile, very strong, very well drilled pack of forwards. Tyrone May at lock is an absolute bonus.

Oliver Clark captained the side (for the first time?) and led right from the front from the kick off. I reckon he made 20 tackles in the first 20 mins and carried the ball up with plenty of aggression. He’s got future first-grader stamped on his forehead. His front row partner Cowen Epere is another powerful runner who was absolutely fearless carting the ball into the big Broncos pack. Dylan Fuad, off the bench, was another stand-out.

Nathan Cleary just did what Nathan Cleary does, he ran the show and directed play with seemingly all the time in the world and just to ice the cake, He skirted 30 metres just before half-time for a brilliant individual try.

Dylan Edwards, at fullback, continued his rare form from the week before and was dangerous every-time he got his hands on the ball at the attacking end of the field.. A ball playing full-back, how unusual is that? And this one’s quick, really quick.

Braidon Burns, in the centres, scored another double and Rob Jennings had a good return to form, getting heavily involved and making a number of strong runs.

They’re a good side that’s only going to get better as they play more games together. Come the pointy end of the season they might even turn out to be a stronger combination than last years Premiers.

The NYC boys are going from strength to strength, particularly impressive given a changes that have gone through the squad over the first few rounds,
