Panthers 28-6 halftime. I'm hoping the parade of tries continues in the second half so I can see them up close (sort of) in the second half

Lost 30-28!!!

We didn't look interested in the 2nd half. Looked like we thought we had it won.

Not happy!!!

I'll be honest, watching that second half was soul destroying.

It look like that Penrith should put this away easily, and point by point watch that feeling get washed away.

Disappointing would be an understatement.

Odds blew out from Panthers $1.20 Easts $4.50 to Panthers $1.25 Easts $4.00 which is quite a betting plunge.

Anyway, our direction in play and structure was non existent. We thought we has this won when we were coming out of the tunnel for the second half.

But overall, still a very successful season regardless of today's outcome.

It looked like we tried to "defend" our lead which would be ludicrous at that level, if that was the Coach's instruction at half time..........

It is our ol mate Cameron Ciraldo after all :P

That was my impression also. We just stopped playing footy and put no pressure on the chooks, who had nothing to lose and in 20's whoever has the momentum will run in points.
To my eyes it was similar to the week before, where we played very little footy for most of the 2nd half, until a break from a scrum in our 20 resulted in a long range try and we went on with it from there.

Our HB getting tackled on the 5th on seemingly every attacking set in the 2nd half also didn't help.

Anyway, over the course of the season we were clearly the best team/squad. At the end of the day it's nice to win the comp, but most important is that we are bringing players thru and thus giving us the players for the future.

It also looked like Tyrone May was the controlling voice too, he made a few poor decisions / options and we paid the penalty. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't his fault, but if your gunna take the responsibility on, the light will come on.

It still doesn't make sense why the half would be caught on the last though, you would at least want that option the other side of the ruck, if not only to make the opposition think.

Agree 100%, it's great to know we were the echelon all season and in turn are building a quality junior nursery, just gotta keep others away from our talent.

Ease up Kev, didn't 1sts poach Martin & Cleary during the season.

Be nice to win everything but geez beaten grand finalists deserve kudos not brickbats.

What's a brick bat?

I didn't think anything I said was untoward, they were the echelon all year, I think Cleary and Martin were absent for a reasonable part of the season and they still performed.

I'm proud of the boys, but it still doesn't detract from the fact we tried to "defend" not score and also our play book looked a little "owned" by one player.

I didn't see a lot of the 20's, this may have been the case since Cleary's move, just an observation on the GF.

What were your thoughts on the 2nd half?

I'd like to know what Ciraldo said to them at half time? A smart coach would have told his players they need to win the half, regardless of what the scoreboard is.

Whatever.

The 20's title is a symbol of a successful crop of juniors. We don't need a trophy to know that our youngsters are worth keeping.

It's not like they are going to entirely replace our first grade team any time soon anyway.
