Holden all the way. Ford is good for competition.
What is a Mopar?

Yea it is Chrysler's spare parts division literally means MOtor PARts they hey day of the big three are long gone. Interestingly the only race Chrysler's never won was Bathurst, they even won Championships as well but never Bathurst.

I'm thinking we should continue to enjoy the Holden dominance. They made us split up our main driving partners so we couldn't run Whincup/Lowndes or Tander/Courtney together (two massive contenders for the win if ever I'd seen them) what more do you want??

Holden have always been prepared to back their product at a motorsport level, going right back through Holden Dealers Team to the Holden Racing Team transition to going out and recruiting the number 1 team in the paddock, Team Vodafone 888.

I thought it was more about Ford pulling its support of the private teams and concentrating on Fpv that lead to 888 Racing heading to Holden, that coupled with the fact the team has GM products with every other branch of its operation in other championships it competes in.

Ford has always focused on working alongside private teams, such as long relationships with Stone Brothers Racing, Dick Johnson Racing, Glenn Seaton Racing. It has included with race development with private teams but lead to Ford starting FTR, and then FPR to better support race development.

It wasn't until recently they decided to started FTR, then FPR and have a 'manfacturers team'. If suggesting that "Holden have always been prepared to back their product at a motorsport level" implys that Ford does not, than I say that statement it pure nonsense.

Ford has looked out for and supported private teams for some time now, and you can point as back as far as the 1980 Dick Johnson boulder incident. Ford fixed Dick Johnson up with a new car body and matched donations dollar for dollar, which actually started a long relationship with DJR and Ford, one that exists to this day.

I was just relaying a story I heard about ford scaling back the funds and 888 racing complaining about it saying they were fords most successful team why should they lose factory support.

there is a little information in this story:

Ford pulling back their financial support (I don't know by how much) had something to do with it but T8 could have simply run Fords without Ford signage as they did during the last few months of their time with Ford, they came to Holden because Holden were prepared to pull out their wallets and back them.

A lot has changed since this thread started. I have followed Volvo (Garry Rogers Motorsport) since they have entered the V8 Supercars situation.

Still a softie for the Fords though (the old man is a mad Ford fan)

Was disheartened with the situation with Scotty McLaughlin, the way he was going he was a strong chance to take the Bathurst 1000 out, but was instead taken out of the race.

..... frivolous protest dismissed. Aha common sense prevails.

Bathurst should be won on the track and not in some courtroom.
