New Penrith Stadium Megathread

While a southern stand has been future proofed, it is not being built as part of the redevelopment due to the $308m cost limit.

the southern hill will be rebuilt, in a slightly different form, which as you say will slightly reduce capacity.

The first concrete has been poured at the new Penrith Stadium and 1991 Premiership Captain Royce Simmons and 2003 Premiership Captain Craig Gower have left their mark the mark the occasion.

The first pour of concrete means the project is on schedule, as it races to be ready for the start of the 2027 season. :crossed_fingers:

Drove past the stadium today, and a number of large cranes in place ready to lift the steel members. The concrete foundations for the Eastern stand (can’t get a view of the western stand) are complete

I was just about to mention that, looks like part of the eastern stand is being erected.

Another update from Big JayDog Adventures, doing a flyby in Late November 2025.

Big changes are the concrete foundation is down on the Eastern side and the steel supports have started going up. The project seems to be moving along at a steady pace. Weather permitting, this project may be finished on (or before) time.

Was going to post that, but had trouble with the YouTube link.

Well since that footage, a drive past the stadium yesterday, I saw the eastern steelwork is now complete. Got to say the stand looks absolutely huge in real life.

An update on the stadium - drive past yesterday (one time I will stop and take a photo lol), Eastern side steelwork complete, with concrete stairs / seating area about 50% complete. Western grandstand Northern lift well / stair tower under construction.

A few photos from developer John Holland showcasing the installation of the Eastern Stand

As expected (unfortunately) the roof coverage of the Eastern stand is worse than the previous stand.

So much for weather protection being a priority.

if only certain media types and local identities didn’t run the distraction campaign of the showground site, which must of burnt time and budget from the stadium upgrade

Helloworld named Penrith Stadium Naming Rights Partner

Penrith’s new world-class stadium will be known as Helloworld Stadium, with the travel professionals to be the inaugural naming rights partner of Sydney’s newest destination.

Helloworld Travel is Australia’s leading retail travel company with a network of over 2000 independent travel agents and travel brokers across the country.

The five-year stadium naming rights partnership marks Helloworld Travel’s first sponsorship of a major sporting venue.

Penrith’s new crown jewel forms part of the Minns Labor Government’s historic multi-billion-dollar investment in Sydney’s western suburbs. It reflects the government’s commitment to building better communities across Western Sydney by investing in the critical infrastructure and services needed in both fast-growing and established areas connecting local families with jobs, recreation and opportunity.

Helloworld Stadium will seat 25,000 fans in sports mode and up to 30,000 for concerts. Currently under construction and set to open in 2027, the project will generate around 500 jobs during construction, with more than 650 ongoing jobs supported once the stadium is operational.

Key features of Helloworld Stadium include steeper grandstands to bring fans closer to the action, new videoboards and sound system, more food and beverage outlets, increased bathrooms, modern corporate facilities, and improved safety and security. The family-friendly hills have been retained and four gender neutral changerooms will support the growth of men’s and women’s sport.

Once operational, Helloworld Stadium will be home of the Penrith Panthers, and host concerts, motocross and other major and sporting events.

The venue replaces the original Penrith Park which opened in 1967.

Another update from Big JayDog Adventures, doing a flyby in March 2026.

The Eastern Stand has been erected and work on the roof is being done. The Western Stand construction has begun, and as it is more complex than the eastern stand will take more time to complete. Infrastructure NSW has noted they are currently ahead of schedule and on target for completion later this year.
