New Stadium Announced for Penrith

Have just arrived at Parra for the NSW Cup Grand Final. They are charging non-members $30 for game day parking. Might be worth getting a club membership for the next 2 years :face_vomiting::face_vomiting::face_vomiting:

I don’t know if it’s changed in the last 20 years or so since I had the misfortune of stepping inside that club, but put it this way, any clubs within 20ks of Penrith leave it for dead (even the smallest bowlo). What a hole! Only thing worse I can think of it that stick of a place near the Caltex oil refinery :joy:

Think I will be walking from the Station on game day

Assuming the light rail is completed in time, it may be a 5-10 minute tram ride to the ground instead of that 20 minute walk!

What’s the latest update with Penrith Stadium since winning there 4th Premiership.

Demolition work has started in the western stand.

The contract for construction has been awarded.

A design change has resulted in the western stand being enlarged and reduction in height of the Eastern stand.

We are not likely to be back home before the 2027 season.

Also, Sydney Water has started on upgrades and preparation work in line with the design contract. If you pass by you can see they have started work on the sewerage pumping station on the corner of Ransley Street and Mulgoa Road.

Last I checked they had it shortlisted to A W Edwards Pty Ltd , Hansen Yuncken and John Holland.

Not sure they have announced the winning bid.

New Renders for the stadium.

Big JayDog Adventures posted a video a day ago where he did a flyover of Penrith Park with his drone.

You can see work has begun. Seats have begun to be removed from the Eastern Terrace, and it looks like Sydney Water has hit the ground running moving the sewerage line in preparation for the new Western Stand (you can see the channel being dug through the old training field along Mulgoa Road.

With good weather and some luck it’s entirely possible to see the Panthers moving back in sometime in 2026.

I’ve got a feeling we will get 1 or 2 games at the back end of 2026. That still gives them around 22 months to complete the stadium. Other than prolonged bad weather it should be doable.

Sadly I think this is another of those projects that will be neither on time nor within budget. Hope I’m wrong.

I feel in 2026 Penrith might opt to get a lot of away games in early in the season so they can backend the home games. With the current pace and hopefully with some good weather, I can see them finishing on time (on budget is another story).

As it is not a total knockdown and rebuild, the workload won’t be as demanding as it would have been in the Paceway plan.

Driving past the stadium tonight - about a dozen excavators lined up behind the western stand. Looks like the demolition starts very soon

Is there official date demolition to start on Penrith Stadium also with the contractors have they chosen who to work on the project or were still waiting on the 3 candidates to chose from.

I don’t think they are quite at the demolition stage yet. there is still quite a bit of work left before the can demolish the western stand.

Regarding the contractor who will manage the project, according to NSW Government Tenders website CBRE was selected.

I thought the three contractors were shortlisted to deliver the redevelopment Penrith Stadium was
A W Edwards, Hansen Yuncken, John Holland.

That’s what had been reported, but the NSW Government website suggests otherwise. :man_shrugging:
