TELSTRA PREMIERSHIP

KNOCK ON EFFECT NSW CUP

JERSEY FLEGG CUP

Thats about as good a team as we can run onto the field and notably IC has selected Cole at 6 with Luai at 7.

Suggests to me Schneider is not working as IC had hoped.

I saw somewhere Nathan isn’t due back until round 20

we have Cowboys, Broncos a bye and Nathan should/could be back for the Dolphins game at home.

We have done amazingly well to navigate the time without him, noting the gap between the 8 and the chasers is very tight and spots within the 8 are still quite fluid.

Be nice to put this game in the win column and whilst Cowboys can score plenty, they have been leaking plenty as well.

If our defence is right we should go well.

Hope the conditions are great for what will be a monster home crowd.

Today marks 1,000 days as premiers!!! What a remarkable achievement & something that could not have even been imagined. Likely something unlikely to be repeated by any team in my lifetime.

Looking to see most, if not all, our SOO guys to back up tomorrow & for us to put on a good display & beat an inconsistent cowboys team. A top 4 finish beckons & a great backend of the season looks a chance.

See you all at the game.

a number of changes to Cup team for todays game (2pm at Lidcombe) suggests maybe some lineup changes for tomorrow’s game, perhaps resting of some SOO players??

All SOO players rested, except for Yeo.

Debuts for Casey McLean & Luron Patea - well done lads.

It will be good to see Casey and Patea making their debuts.

Interesting bench with three middles and a half/hooker. I suspect Kenny may play some
time at lock, and Smith on the edge.

Very ordinary first half. Hopefully Ivan lights a fire under them during the break.

well Schneider is possibly the worst player we have ever bought and Ivan should hook him.

Let Toleau play 7 and bring Kenny back on.

Their first try was a forward pass, we should have had a penalty try when Drinkwater took Laurie in the air

That being said, who came up with the game plan to BOMB when they were a player short and in these conditions?

Mind you Schneider cannot even put a grubber in.

Laurie and JFH have kept us in this game.

Hard to describe just how bad we are and we had enough possession to win the game twice and they were average which says even more about us.

I thought IC would hook Schneider but he hooked Cole…go figure.

anyways we have way too many of our Top squad out of form, Tago,Turuva,Sorenson, Alamotti our lack of scoring highlights how bad they are.

Hope they pull up ok but we were terrible.

I haven’t been this underwhelmed leaving the game since the Matt Elliott era.

It had nothing to do with who we were missing, the players we had out there should have been more than capable of winning that game.

Cowboys threw nothing at us and we still couldn’t get over them.

Luron Patea played well, but too many minutes / too fatigued by the end and errors crept in.

Schneider ain’t it, and it doesn’t show anymore than Luai being preferred #7 in absence of Cleary.

Turuva and Tago have well and truly gone backwards.

Laurie is solid individually in attack, but not sure where he is in defence.

I think we can win the comp without Luai or Cleary, but not without Edwards.

Cole needs more development but should be okay for next year. Not sure where we go next year without Luai when Cleary isn’t playing :see_no_evil:.

The situation with May is hurting in the depth of backs

Honestly not even sure who was running the side in the first half

:mega: Panther Pride Man of the Match voting is now open here.

To be honest if the choice for five-eighth is between Cole and Schneider, then I pick Laurie.

Dane was the only bloke out there at times trying to make a break or get some movement, the talk from the halves was non-existent and attack was flat as a tortilla.

I mean, look at Laurie’s stats for tonight (in the rain)…

27 Runs (1st)
228 Run Metres (1st by a mile)
116 Kick Return Metres (1st)
68 Post Contact Metres (1st)
9 Tackle Breaks (1st)

I don’t know how you deny him a spot in the starting squad in 2025.

100% agree Steve….he was our best player in a disappointing game. I’d try him at 5/8 next season. Thought the two debutants played ok as well…couple of dropped balls by Luron but difficult conditions to come into the team.

This is a good point and to be fair I didn’t think of Laurie in there.

Not sure whether I have him or Cole at #6, but at the very least he’s at least #14.

I thought Cole tried hard in the first half, and looked okay as a ball running half. Not sure when Yeo came on though. He might excel with Cleary and Yeo.

Edit: is Henry getting bigger? Starting to look like he’s lining up for JFHs spot in 2025.

Well Done to those who went to the game in horrible weather conditions and even though only 24 hours earlier found out the majority of our SOO players would not be playing, still turned up.

This was probably the game that lost us the minor premiership and while resting players has worked in the past, it’s not working now. We needed at least Luai to back up in the halves to give the team some sort of direction.

I am not sure who to be disappointed with, the NRL for how we schedule rep games or the coaching staff for not letting our players back up.

Well done to Fish who was running the ball like a man on a mission.

Hopefully we have learnt from this game and we can punish the Broncos next week.
