Now the massacre at Mudgee. ![]()
I was nervous about this game, and the early try to the raiders didn’t help on that.
It was a strong performance across the park & we proved much too strong in the end. Our forwards played extra strong and that played a big part in the victory. Our kicking seemed to have more depth this week, which gave us better field position than in recent games. NC kicking goals the way he is at the moment is a big plus.
I suggest we looked much more solid in attack & defence with Cogger in 6. I watched Blaize in Cup and he had a good game, but I think that Jack will be in the 6 going forward.
Worries are 3 on report & Casey’s injury.
At this stage all that matters each week is the 2 points and building to the finals. As in the past, the aim is to make the top 2 & from there we need to win 3 games - nothing changes.

Moses to stump up 3 grand. I see Reece Walsh got fined for a hair pull; I’ve always thoughts he should be in the WNRL competition.
I see reports Kenny is at least another month away due to complications with recovery. Back for finals at best.
PantherTar’s photo is a good illustration of my comment about who was HB and 5/8! We’re lined up with Yeo at first receiver onto Cogger onto Cleary.
I sure hope that’s the formula for the finals and Coggs keeps going well. Seems to let Cleary do what he needs to do creatively, rather than forcibly. Maybe have Blaize at #14 in the absence of Kenny being back and lussick being utility.
Just another thought on Edgar, I know I sang his praises earlier, but there were plenty of moments I forgot that Edwards wasn’t even playing, which is a rare thing over the past 5+ years.
Agree we looked much better with Cogger playing 6 & 7 giving NC options to play more freely. Yeo was a beast and easily my MOTM.
Haha glad it could be of use and I agree with your sentiments.
BTW this lil fella could be our lucky charm this year. He’s up for adoption if anyone is interested. Is a rescue and we can’t keep him in our home (have 2 cats already)
As well as his defense and organising, I think the value Cogger added was to take some pressure off Cleary and Yeo, and allow them to play their natural game, rather like in SOO 3 with Moses in the 6. This allows Cleary to relax, knowing he has another true half in the side, rather than someone he has to carry.
Agreed SHF. I also noticed Smith getting in at 1st receiver too!
