A few years missing there Mutley?

Didn’t we wear the 1979 jersey again after 84, like 1990??

It was the jersey we wore at the first game I attended, never forget Matt Goodwin, he had dirt all over him like he had been in a war.

P.S. Where is Puss teal strip ??

The missing years were Grand Final jerseys.

The 79 jersey is almost identical to the 1985-1990 jersey, just a different colour trim (79 had brown trim. 85-90 had white trim).

Only went with primary jerseys. Too many options if I went alternate jerseys.

Alway been a fan of this one… 1995 Alternate.

teal or rust (whatever that was) are still better than Brown & White IMO

Nb our original colours in 1966 second division were purportedly blue and white, ask Southern Hill Fan. We changed to appease Cronulla Sutherland on our promotion to the big time. Brown and white was certainly different and thus our chocolate soldiers reference. I don’t hold any objection to brown and white, it simply isn’t a favourite, especially since some smart variation as the years rolled by. Each to their own.

From my knowledge, we didn’t appease Cronulla, they stole our colours by registering them with the NSWRFL before us.

This is the reason royal blue is the colour of the panther or the ball I our early logos.

I somewhat wish we replaced the green on our jerseys with the original royal blue

Funny you say that, I remember us having this very conversation back in the old forum.

While I was never a great fan of the teal, even less so when the purple took over, I used to have a polo shirt in the rust red/brown colour (about 2004 vintage). Always thought that would of made a superb jersey strip.

Not the first time you have raised this Steve, think you might be on the outer with this though lol. I think we first wore that in 7’s from memory.

Now for my confession, although I didn’t vote for it I have a soft spot for the super league jersey, think it springs from the hope of that season when we had Alexander, Geyer and Carter back together with the promise of rising star Girdler (although didn’t we bag him for the first couple of seasons due to injury :scream:!).

not sure that I have an outright favourite, although I have fond memories of my first Panther jersey, the brown & white vertical stripe with the horizontal stripes on sleeves. I wore that one for many years, until it wore out or it no longer fitted, or maybe both

Yes sir, It was used in the 1995 Coca Cola Sevens tournament. It was a bold jersey that’s for sure.

I think we are all guilty of loving one of the abominations Penrith have put out over the years. from musk pink to teal madness… I thought of making some polo shirts for the site made out in the 1995 style… but after the lack of love, I’ll give it a pass.

Check out live-wire fullback Morvin Edwards with it in all it’s glory.
