Would love to see Billy Burns make his debut in the 17 at the expense of Katoa.

This kid has been fantastic all year (not to mention last year), surprised he hasnā€™t debuted yet.

I see the broncos have their regular MOM in Klein selected in their team, so we are starting from behind the 8-ball. Maybe we can still win???

I wonder what Kleinā€™s stats are when ā€˜officiatingā€™ the Broncos?

0/4 is a huge concern but could very well work in our favour

then we have ole mate ā€˜chiddy chiddy bang bangā€™ to satisfy !

Broncos are 20 & 13 under Klein.

Take a look at the stats here: Rugby League Tables / Ashley Klein - Referee

Our 7 & 22 is an unbelievable differential under him compared to our overall record. There is nothing for other teams that even comes close - he is clearly biased against us.

That is just wrong, Iā€™m guessing the majority of losses are this season, due to the fact they are pathetic.

Hope I havenā€™t spoke too soon

gag Maloney, they clearly donā€™t see eye to eye !

If you were Chinese Puss I could have sworn you were talking about Nathan or Ivan

ā€¦ lucky then this is Panther Pride and not Panda Pride eh !

i personally would not have changed the team at all from last week despite someone like Maloney coming back from suspension and on the refs, only way to take them out of the game is to score more points than the other mob, donā€™t give away dumb penalties and shut your mouth other than the Captain making points to the refsā€¦not insulting them.

Of all games this is a must win, we need to win and move away from the teams below us on the ladder.
We have a good record against Broncos although this is not the side they would have thought they would have earlier in the year, much like us really.

my understanding is that Burton could only play last week via an exemption [Maloney being out]. In any case, whilst he made a good debut, if we are to win tonight, more than likely Maloney will be a major contributor - he mostly finds some way for us to win, somehow

Or busts his arse trying anyway.

Maloney is a must but Cleary needs to have a go just like last week.

This game will be won in the forwards and we need to run traffic at their halves all night.

thanks for the info re Burton which changes everything but to your point about Maloney

I wouldnā€™t have him anywhere near this squad now he is committed elsewhere.

I have always seen him as a liability in defence and with the refs.

hope he makes my comments look poor judgement tonight but i think he is our weakness

Will be interesting to see how he influences Cleary and our shape tonight.

Broncos will run everything at Maloneyā€¦absolutely everything

I will be the first to say he won the game for us if he doesā€¦lets see

SBF - re Maloney, I hope youā€™re as good as your word.

I donā€™t know if Maloney will win us the game, but I will do him the courtesy of recognising hi status as a professional who will give his best until his contract is up. I think heā€™ll be invaluable over the rest of the season and - if we make them - the finals.

Whare is back at centre tonight, replacing Crichton, who has an ankle injury. I think that will be good for us. I really rate Whare. He hasnā€™t been in great form but, in Brisbane against the Broncos, Iā€™m happy we have a bloke renowned for his defence at centre, rather than 2 rookies.

Edwards did a lot of dummy half & was up in the line til tackle 4 last week. It got him involved & put him in good position for support play off Cleary. Will be interested to see if that happens again tonight.

If we win this game, we SHOULD make the finals.

Over to you, boys.

well there goes 2019 all on this site
To my point Maloney was useless but he wasnā€™t aloneā€¦our whole game was different to last week against sharks.

we are shocking

is anyone else honest enough to admit we are so bad?

Very very disappointing.

The game was there for us to win. We rushed passes and werenā€™t patient.

And when we are behind by 6 with 20 to go and get a penalty in front - take the kick and make it a 4 point game.

Simple stuff let us down - one tackler high, one low for instance.

I can see season 2019 slipping away

I am not prepared to blame Maloney, for mine our issue is he is a class above, by that I mean he plays to fast for a mediocre team, not sure how he will go outside a team who is at their peak. All of his success has been at superior ā€œteamā€ environments, blokes playing for each other. We however have too many 5 minute heroes.

The Broncos didnā€™t win tonight, WE LOST !!!

You must be related to Maloney and your comment of he being being too good for a mediocre team isā€¦well an insult
The ā€œmediocreā€ team did alright without him last week didnā€™t they?

Whare proved he is not NRL material tonight as did Mansour who was terrible but again they were not alone

That being said the Broncos were awful which only points to how bad we were.
And calls went against us like the Milford ā€œtripā€ā€¦the 7 swinging arm on Edwards and gets the binā€¦but despite the rough calls we were bloody awful

And Maloney was awfulā€¦did he kick for the sideline once like Burton did?

Burton had optionsā€¦Maloney had ZERO and was terrible in defence again!
