Burton to bench, Luai at 6, Cleary 7.
Itā€™s time for Luai to step up or stand aside for young gun on the rise
V Parramatta Panthers Jennings, Blake & Campbell Gillard. Whare
will need to bring his A game versus some well known speedsters.
This should be a cracker of a game.

I think Luai is a bit more versatile and would be better suited to the bench role if we are going to play all 3.

Any news on Brent Naden? Has he just been dropped?

I thought a stronger side looked Crichton at fullback and Naden in the centres

Gonna be a cracker of a game!!

Welcome Gilly !

I am happy for Luai to start, he will know his performance will be scrutinised. Agree re Whareā€¦.man if im coaching the opposition, you just run traffic down his side all day and wait for the errors, running out of the line, trying to intercept etc etc. their halves wil have a field day, that is our weakness Friday night, without doubt!

Hey Steve, can you pull the ref stats on his Parra performances?

Agree with you Gilly ā€¦Burton to start and Jerome off the bench would give us more options. Not sure why Naden isnt in the team either. Injured perhaps.?

Sorry Steve, I meant Gerard Sutton, interested to know what his resulting %'s are when officiating the scumbags of the comp.

Gerard Sutton has only ever officated two games between Penrith and Parramatta. We won both.

You might be confusing him with Bernard Sutton?

No I meant Gerard, he has our game Friday. Only 2 games, interesting.

Geez I hope he doesnā€™t care about stats, 3 in a row could be considered a ā€˜biasā€™.

On a positive, I might be at the game Friday Woo Hoo

Should be a long enough of a gap, last two games were 2011 and 2009.

Long time between drinks.

OK game day is here & it is a chilly with some rain about.

I canā€™t help thinking we have not gone in with our best 17, but thatā€™s ICā€™s call. If I hear one more time that our right centre is a defensive centre, I think Iā€™ll scream. First grade centres can both attack & defend, and, apart from an occasional ā€˜big hitā€™ I think he actually is a below average defender.

Iā€™m expecting a fiery encounter up front, with Fish sorting out RCG  & am hoping for a win. Will be viewing on kayo with a cold beer.

I hope we bash RCG into oblivion, along with all the rest of the scumbags, particularly their piece of shit coming back from suspension.

This game will definitely be won up front along with minimal mistakes.

I hate this gameā€¦I cannot think about a loss to these idiots and all of the dumbass supportersā€¦PLEASE WIN Penrith

Was supposed to be working tonight, and had planned on watching when I got home. (Un)fortunately for me I was sent for a Rona test this morning, so I get to watch live from the comfort of my tv room.

Iā€™m hoping Cleary has a massive game to pay us back for his Anzac Day shenanigans.

I got offered a ticket to Bankwest, knocked it backā€¦

Only Panther with employers who are all Parra, better part of discretion to say no thanks rather than ā€œiā€™m not sorry please donā€™t sack meā€

In the end we only lost due to the bounce of the ball, and loosing Capewell in the first minute, which left us a bench spot down.

Probably our best performance all year, even though we lost.

Martin was exceptional, considering his first game in a long while.

Aetkins and Luai got caught out a bit in defense, but they are fixable with Edwards and Burton.

Disappointed to be sure, but canā€™t knock our commitment and energy in a game which was played at almost Origin intensity.

If we play like that each week, and get a little better, thereā€™s a lot to look forward to.

that was a game we let get away from us, we had them many times yesterday but couldnā€™t seem to close it out and points to them for getting over the top of us
Still think something is wrong with Api as he is not breaking the line with those darting runs we saw from him in Rounds 1 and 2
Crichton made some mistakes and the push off from Blake on him will hopefully be a steep learning curve for him
Cleary played like he was 2 games out and lacked fitness but still did a mountain of work in defence

Aekins is NOT our FB answer and doubt Edwards is either, any news on Naden because he could slot into centres and move Crichton to FB
Luai has either changed his game or had it changed on him as he has been mostly invisible in attack

Our lack of options in the red zone persist

We were super competitive and we get the Storm next week who have always been hard for us to get overā€¦perhaps this game more than others will point to how we are looking this year as i really donā€™t rate the Eels and for 60 minutes last night we had them scoreless and clueless.

if we expect to be a contender at the pointy end of the season we canā€™t let games like this get away from us. Ah well, back to the future eh!

ā€œour lack of options in the red zone persistā€ and yes Luai is not the answer.

It is pretty clear to me our entire 17 are not playing at the same level as each other. In other words, we have 3 or 4 passengers enjoying the ride.

The likes of JFH, Yeo, Kikau, Martin etc etc are doing ALL the work. Although he had a better game, Tamou is still a standout passenger compared to the others, has he lost his aggression, his love of winning or is his future pay check the issue, i.e. self preservation?

Agree with other sentiments re Aitkins n Luai

Anyone else feel sick in the stomach after that 10 minutes of patheticness, the new refereeing is a concern. Our game was a blistering pace, the Knights v Storm was pedestrian in comparison and the tackle times were >double IMO and therein lies the problem, different ref, different expectations and decisionsā€¦Hmmm
