Lenui needs to understand we don’t need another Jack Hetherington.
Pls someone straighten this lad up, he’s a real talent. A lad Panthers
could well do with for some years to come, provided …
it was good to get a win albeit an ugly win.
i tuned into 2GB after the game and they were giving it to May saying much what has been posted on here about him NOT being a 7 and at best maybe a bench utility.
Lenui is simply a wasted talent in what he is doing or trying to do, he looks to me like a Ricky Stuart player…just whinges and blames others all the time
Sorenson was better and Naden actually surprised me.
But we had some issues and some need a big rest like Fish and Leota and wish Capewell would get a rest too because he looks flat to me
The big problem is a our 7 and not sure what the answer is and sadly we now have Luai injured.
I believe they have a 7 in Falls who will likely get the job with Burton at 6
Overall we looked clunky and didn’t have any continuity but as i said it was a win albeit ugly and i will take those at the moment
I think as we head towards the finals there are 5 teams…Storm,Panthers,Eels,Souths and a fast finishing Manly who are contenders.
Injuries may impact this greatly as it has done with us but Storm look like they have secured one spot and 4 fighting for the other.
can Mitch Kenny play halfback ???
I think he was originally a 5/8, who we converted to hooker. Should still be able to play in the halves if needed.
would he not be worth a try in favour of May who struggles?
I’d rather give Salmon or Falls a run, they are both specialist halves.
I hear you, but they both lack 1sts experience and there’s some distance from what they’re used to and 1st Grade.
fair comment but we cannot risk May at 7 , and i believe risking Falls is required at this point
we have an opportunity to see how he may fit into the side with the absence of Cleary and depending on his efforts will determine or at least help determine how the club manages/eases Cleary back into the team
I would rather risk a new 7 now than persist with May which is a greater risk to me
We have a couple of relatively easy games coming up, so now might be the time to give them a run.
May is a worse 7 that our old mate Walshy…at least he could kick lol
100% agree with the Leniu comments.
Staines has the skill to be a fullback, just lacks size, he gets pumped with every return, not good for his longevity in this game.
Yeo - Thanks heavens he was playing
I think we went into the game without our usual confidence & maybe that was justified. The defensive side again mostly worked, with their 2 tries just horrible, but we lacked cohesion.
No-one would be expecting TMay to ‘do a Nathan’ but we needed more from him, though that said his opponent did little more & is now in SOO3?? I suggest we have wasted a lot of time invested in TMay which could have well been better spent. He is not a a terrible player, just not a playmaker & thus of limited value.
Our best two were Api & Yeo, and Charlie despite his brainsnap was good at the back, and Fish was strong again. Solid display & a win… we can’t be at our best every week!
Time to restart after the bye and go on & win this damn thing
