tough one,

don’t expect Rabbito’s to be as co-operative as the Dragons.

:mega: Team List and Match Officials have been updated.

That surely can’t be the team that will take the field on Friday night.

Does anyone know what’s happened to Charlie Staines? Has he been dropped? Why?

I don’t have any inside news, but he was poor in the past few games, being bullied on the kick returns & poor in defense & was left out last week.

I think that’s probably the reason, but the wing pairing of Crighton & Naden doesn’t fill me with confidence in defence, especially under the high ball.

Over to you, Adam Reynolds.

I posed this same question a week or so ago. From my memory all his tries have come at the end of a backline movement, maybe a from a cross kick as well. I have never seen him break a tackle or make a line break, so he needs a lot more bulk. Plus, he never seems to chase when there is a break, when his speed should be a great asset (except for when he outpaced Addo-Car at Penrith Park); he just seems to give up (like against Jacob Liddle when Wests flogged us). Maybe he needs a lesson from Scott Sattler.

Pete the lad is a polished finisher and to a degree I agree he’s no Eric Grothe or Luke Rooney so some extra beef wouldn’t do him no harm. But as the game changed over the years the likes of Ken Irvine slowly disappeared. Shame really ‘coz I reckon there’s still a place for the ‘ultra’ speedster.
Cheers

I have to say I don’t remember him marching down the field with 3 or 4 defenders on his back like To’o used to. But then again To’o is a special player.

I think Staines was far more effective staying out wide and then taking the opportunity when the others made space for him. He was never really effective trying to make metres up the middle.

I still pertain he could benefit by more ball in space, which will vary dependent on who’s on his inside. Melb and Manly manage to get ball to their wingmen, how do they do it?

Getting the ball to the right winger has been an issue for us for some time - we had a no passer at RC for some seasons, who also never beat a tackle or made a line break so we termed him a ‘defensive centre’.
We now have Momo filling that role.

It’s just a few games back when we saw Critter putting Charlie into space

Ivan Cleary that James Fisher-Harris will miss this week, feeling the return was a bit rushed and decided to give him another week of rest.

He also confirmed that Tevita Pangai Junior will play this week, no indication if he will start or off the bench, but will be in the side this week.

LATE CHANGES

James Fisher-Harris and Taylan May have been omitted from the final squad.

Tavita Pangai Junior (#605) will play his debut game for the Panthers.

Am I the only one hoping for Tago in the centres, and Momo on the wing in place of Naden.

Find out soon enough I guess

Tago 18th man, unless we get enough injuries, we won’t see him

No, I’m with you SHF. I actually like Naden, but he’s shaky in defence & heart attack material under the high ball. I think Souths & esp Reynolds will send plenty of traffic his way.
