Thanks, Steve, but the Opposition team is the Dragons, not the Bulldogs.

With the win to the Broncos it has brought our opponents in week 1 of the finals down to Warriors or Sharks.

I think we will most likely be playing Warriors next week. I’m hoping it is the Sunday game, due to a function I’ve got next Saturday.

I think if the Rabbitohs manage to beat the Roosters tonight the Panthers will rest a fair amount of the squad, we won’t be able to finish any lower or higher than 7th.

Updated NRL Team List

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has updated his squad for Saturday’s Round 27 clash against St George Illawarra Dragons at WIN Stadium.

The Panthers will wear the 2025 Away Jersey for the match.

This did not age well

Roosters take the win and move to 7th.

The equation is simple now…

Panthers Win: Play The Warriors in Auckland
Panthers Lose: Play the Sharks in Cronulla

I disagree… I did stress “IF”… it was a big IF.

Based on this, I am in 2 minds on whether it is better for them to win or lose.

But they need to go into the finals with momentum.

We can beat either team so it doesn’t really matter….just come through Dragons game with no injuries or suspensions.

It’s comes down to travel. Playing the Warriors meaning they will be mostly on the road all week to prepare to play the Warriors.

Playing the Sharks we get to train the whole week at the academy and travel on game day.

Considering what happened to Melbourne on Thursday (looking at losing 3 players for the rest of the season), the temptation to rest a lot of players this afternoon will be tempting.

Looking at the bench for today, I am guessing that the plan is to get Nathan and Dylan off before the end of the game.

Solid first half. Today should be more about fine tuning for the finals than winning or hitting a certain score. I’d imagine one of our goals would have been to keep a clean sheet, unfortunately an unlucky bounce stopped that. Part of a Ivan’s half time message should be to keep them to 6.

I thought we were going to make a statement tonight but gee wiz, I think we are in trouble for the finals.

Not as polished as I would have liked to have seen. Hopefully that will get the cobwebs out ahead of next week.

Another second gear game. Important to avoid injuries and judiciary. Anything more than just getting the win is wasted effort.

How do we keep Alamoti in the finals team?
