Grand Final 2026

Who is watching? Who is are you backing (or do you even care)?

Personally this is an unusual one for me, as it will be only the second time since 1998 that I haven’t been at the ground (2021 being the other for obvious reasons).

Under normal circumstances I would back the Knights given they have had the longer wait, but after the way some of their fans carried on online after the game last week (apparently Cleary injured himself & Crossland did nothing wrong), I’ll be backing the Roosters.

We will gather for a family get together, and to watch the footy.

Our main focus will be in the Panthers game against the dolphins at 1:20pm :paw_prints: :paw_prints:

Zero interest in the 2nd game of the day.

Not really too interested in the NRL GF, now that we are not playing. I’ll be hoping for a washout  I’ll have a few multis on try scorers & I guess I would prefer that the chooks win - can’t believe what I just wrote!

Plenty of food and a couple of beers will be the best option.

Bring on 2027, although I’ll be checking out some of the World Cup games in Oct/Nov.

I honestly think the Knights will be embarrassed, but that’s also what I was thinking last week.

Looking forward to watching reserve grade. Go Panthers

We usually watch the ABC’s Insiders at 7.30 on Sunday night, so I’ll probably switch the GF on about 8.30 & catch the 2nd half. Mind you, I think Griggsy’s on the right track, the Chooks may have it wrapped up by halftime.

I can’t see the Chooks losing. Unfortunately.

Reserve bank may have raised interest but I cannot do the same.

I watched the full reply of our game last week, after having been there at the ground. The replay confirmed, even moreso to my mind, that, despite losing Nathan, we dominated the game & just couldn’t find a way to win - I guess some things just happen?? I accept that we did start to panic towards the end, which didn’t help.

I was sure then, that despite my dislike of anything related to the rorters, that they would lap the knights, who clearly were not a team who would have been anywhere near a GF in the past decade at least. That’s how the game played out, the knights couldn’t safely defuse a bomb if their life depended on it & have only one or two tricks in their game, but somehow they were still in it, getting within a point in the end. Yes, they made a number of try-saving tackles & worked hard, like last week, but never seemed good enough to win, which in the end they didn’t.

I think our boys would be sitting back during the off-season, knowing that 2026 was a lost opportunity & that the GF teams that we saw yesterday were inferior to the teams in the 20’s to date, & would not have stood a chance in any of the games since 2020.

On to 2027 and back HOME :paw_prints: :paw_prints:
