Really looking forward to watching this game, based on the leadup games it shapes as a beauty. So many Panthers and ex-Panthers in the lineups just adds to the interest.
The kiwis won the pool game, but Samoa really turned on a great display last week, so it’s hard to pick a winner.
I think that NRL will be a winner - the game will be played in great spirit and skill and the atmosphere will be electric. Shapes as a much better advertisement for our game than the game in Leeds.
I feel bad to say that I will cheers against our Panthers greats Fish & Moses (and also Papi & Casey) and hope for the Samoans to get the trophy.

I agree completely, while only watching on tv, I thought last weeks game atmosphere seemed to rival state of origin, albeit in a more friendly spirited form.

This weekends match should be no different - seen more than a few cars driving around with Samoan flags.

Maybe in a few years we do away with state of origin and just have nsw and wild play in the pacific cup at end of season. Nah as much I wish it won’t ever happen worse luck

Thought the Kiwis v Samoa game was pretty goiod in the first half, a lot of back and forth and looked to be a close contest.

The second half you could see the fatigue settling in for Samoa, they were losing their grip in defence and the Kiwis made them pay in the end.

The Jillaroos v Kiwi Ferns was aa bit of a mismatch, which was odd considering the match last week between the two. I felt the Kiwi Ferns played their Grand Final the week before, which was a tougher, tighter contest. It was a shame the same energy wasn’t there from New Zealand this week.

The Cook Island v South Africa Rhinos qualifier ended how I expected it to end. The Cook Islands has way to much talent to lose to a spirited Rhinos outfit. Though I must say the one try that South Africa did try was pretty spectacular, it left the Cook Island boy stunned. If you haven’t seen it, watch the replay.

On a side note, that ends the Rugby League Season for 2025. Thanks everybody for your contribution.

The next significant event will be the announcement of the 2026 NRL Draw, which is speculated to be sometime next week, so keep an eye out for that.

Wonder if our betting partners would take a wager on the draw - my prediction Broncos get almost 100% 7:30 Friday night games, and an away game for magic round

They would be Winx like odds SHF - put your house on it to buy a new letterbox

I know we are set for quite a few away and neutral venue games early on as the Matildas are playing at Commbank for a fair portion of their games which will clash with NRL fixtures.

I also read that this year will be the first time the draw will be designed with the assistance of AI.

It’s sure going to be interesting.
