Panthers “Team of the NRL era”

Just saw this posted on Facebook. Hard to argue too much with it, although there are some big names not there.

Not sure luke run sideways Rooney should be there

Who would you have in his place?

Don’t know really just wasn’t a fan of Rooney don’t think he ever reached his potential….how about Amos Roberts try a game for the season he played for us and also kicked some goals from memory.

Not sure that Amos qualifies but Josh Mansour in his prime certainly does.

I agree about Rooney not reaching his potential with us, although I still think he would be up there as one of our best wingers of the NRL era.

Not sure if I would put Roberts in there based on one season.

Mansour is probably our best winger to never win a premiership.

Two other possible options would be Luke Lewis & Stephen Chricton, who both won premierships with us as wingers, before moving to other positions. Given that they are also named in the team, it would then open the debate as to who would take their spot if we moved one of them to the wing.

So many options, the first thing that came to my mind was where is Trent Waterhouse, I would have him at the very least in front of Scott Sattler, that nostalgic cover defense in the GF pales into significance if you look at the entire season, Trent was a beast for us.

What about Jenko, if we don’t need a kicker, Girdler wouldn’t make my side, just my 2 bobs. If we didn’t have a kicker, then by all means Girdler fills the void. Purely on centre play, a “in his prime” Jenko please.

Such a hard team to pick….agree with you Trent Waterhouse should be at least on the bench. I guess we all have favourites one of my all time favourites was Preston Campbell but it’s hard to put him in before others who have helped us win premierships.
We are lucky to have (and have had) so many players to choose from.
