I feel a bit sorry for Jenkins. Just as he was gaining his confidence and ball security, Bizza is back. But he will provide good depth during state of origin.
I suggest Jenkins on the bench is to cover for To’o’s (that was a lot of apostrophes lol) lack of match fitness. Having not played for 6 weeks or so he may only play for 30 minutes or so before Milky comes on.
The number 14 is certainly a contentious position isn’t it?
Schneider - a running, defensive half, ok at hooker
Tokelau - an immature half, who shows promise at hooker
Sommerton - a good back up hooker
Cole - ok half, ok hooker
Laurie - mediocre back
Looking at today’s updated team list, I would say Schneider no 14, Eisenhuth onto the bench and Sommerton the 18th man. I suspect that Jenkins will miss out this week.
Didn’t see the game, but Flegg beat West Tigers 40-20 at Parker St last night. Couple of late tiges tries made the final score closer.
Watched the last 50’ of Cup from Tamworth. Panthers beat West Magpies 40-16. Looked pretty good, a bit too much class for the pies, with part-time 1sts players Casey McLean, Laurie, Cole & Toelau showing they are a step above Cup level. Big Preston Riki bagged his first try for the year.
I’m with Gogatee. Nothing against Schneider, but I think Toelau offers more. He had a rough night against Souths (he wasn’t the only one, either!), but he’s done well every other time he’s been in the side.
