Two words should strike dread into the hearts of Penrith and supporters. Not Craig Bellamy. Not Cameron Munster. Ashley Klein. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
To be fair to Ashley Klein, his percentage has got better as time has gone on. Pre 2020, the win rates were abysmal but 2020 onwards, we have a fairy favourable rating comparably to the rest of the teams.

Support for Corey
Some fans are planning on a mini-protest of sorts against the suspension handed down to Corey Bocking. They plan on raising their water bottles to the sky in the 50th minute of the match against Melbourne tonight.
Thanks, Steve. Interesting stuff, and I agree that it makes his percentages look better. It would be useful to dig deeper, such as to compare the win/loss ratio under Klein compared to the season as a whole; and to consider the results during SoO. But stats can be sliced and diced endlessly, especially when trying to prove a preferred hypothesis.
It’s interesting how most pundits, in their tipping, cited the absence of Yeo as a key factor for Penrith last week. It was cited that, without Yeo, the win/loss statistic was massively different to when he played. But that is an example of the misuse of stats. It fails to consider why Yeo was absent. I’d suggest that most were due to SoO, and hence we would also have been without players like Cleary, Edwards, Martin, Luai, To’o, Crichton, Burton and Koroisau, and that was the primary reason for the higher loss rate. Maybe the tipsters learnt, or took into consideration the Melbourne injury list. Whatever, Yeo’s absence has been given far less examination (or so it seems to me). Hence the oft heard warning – there are lies, damned lies and statistics.
Yep. We’ll take a lesson from that. Storm came out with intent in the 2nd half, we didn’t match them for the first 20. We should take a lesson from that, too.
