St Mary’s have blown Penrith Brothers off the park 36-12 to claim the Sydney Shield.
RMC Grand Final
Hills lead Glebe 18-6 at half time.
Hills scored early on the back of some errors from Glebe.
After this an arm wrestle ensued, seeing Glebe level the scores midway through the half.
The arm wrestle continued before a couple of questionable tries to Hills. The first included 2 passes that were line ball at best, although if the Glebe players had played the whistle instead of complaining they probably would have stopped it. The second came from a very blatant knock on, with the ball literally dropping right in front of the Hills players feet while he was facing the try line. Again Glebe had a chance to stop the try, but were more interested in complaining.
Glebe need to start playing the whistle to get back into the game. Hills have had the advantage of a strong breeze in the first half, so Glebe will have that advantage for the second half.
Final score:
Hills 18
Glebe 12
Glebe came out firing after the break & reduced the deficit early.
The arm wrestle returned, and continued until the siren.
Glebe went close to levelling several times, but were unable to get the try the needed to send the game into extra time.
Congratulations to Hills, as Minor Premiers & Premiers.
