I went with the 3 up front, their impact was noticeable. I thought Patea showed great heart again, his 2nd hit up was “soft” compared to the previous game and his 1st hit up…I thought o’hhh no he must be injured…but then back to his block busting best. I almost gave Eisenhuth a vote, is becoming mr consistency when he does play…not going to win us games, but to play his role is all we can ask.
Our expectations of Nathan, Yeoy & Dylan are sky high every game, just based on them making a significant contribution virtually every game.
I suggest that some of us mark them down a little at times, just because their bars are set so high.
In doing this a ‘lesser’ player who performs above normal will get a vote.
That said, I suggest that the voters on here are much more on the money than the Dally M & similar experts when awarding votes, mostly to their media favourite
I ONLY pick forwards with a few minor exceptions, I have in the past given votes to Dyl, NC and To’o, but they have to play perfect footy lol - just the way I was raised, I know the modern game is a bit different but last weekend the proof was in the pudding as they say. Moses stood up, Smith stopped the ball playing, and Patea was a beast with ball in hand.
I do see the work out of our own end from the backs, but they get some respite from effort waiting for kicks…
