This game must have been close to the hardest to give votes in for a long time. Without 3 SOO players, and with the other 2 playing lesser roles, I think every player stepped up.
Not getting points from me, but how happy I was with Laurie’s game. Watching from the stands I only recall one issue was when he stopped short and didn’t catch a kick on the full, which could’ve gone bad, but otherwise very good. Maybe he has heard the chirping for Sloane??
I agree @mrwalker, it’s hard to find fault with anybody in that game. Everybody deserves a vote, but I managed to get it down to three.
Mitch Kenny. Really stood up in this one, he was revving the boys up and was tough as nails in defence,
Daine Laurie. The Eels felt like that could crack him. They put him under immense pressure, but the kid didn’t crack. Had some amazing takes from bomb, and returned serve making some big metres on his return.
Luke Garner. 2 Lines Breaks and a try on half time, Garner was everywhere in defence and made some big metres up the middle. I don’t know who said he could talk to other clubs, but they must have rocks in their head in my opinion.
Luke Garner just keeps getting better. It’s difficult to compare him to Liam Martin and Sorensen, but he’s starting to look like a true leader on his edge. If we do let him go, whoever picks him up will be getting a complete footy player.
