For a more interesting game and bigger ratings, they should just run a Penrith vs Queensland series to replace state of origin

Feel sorry for Milky Jenkins…he’s played so well this year scored more tries than anyone and the blues call in Mark Longname from the Roosters and shove him in the wing.

What does Milky have to do to earn a Blues gurnsey?

Statistics can be useful, or misleading. Regardless, it is 'interesting that Penrith, leading the NRL by a country mile, has a representation of 3 out of 38 listed for SOO 2. The Rorters, for example, had 5 or so, but then again they are a marquee club (which aligns with a comment from a friend to the effect that he imagined that I was a little jealous of him because he supported the Rorters whereas I just followed Penrith - the sense of entitlement was breathtaking).

Laurie Daley couldn’t Coach a choko vine over an outhouse

Laurie got massively found out here. Having two halves in the middle not only was a bad decision but made the whole attacking line clunky and confused. Also our delivery from dummy half was slow.

As good as Mark and Katoni was in attack, they pissed it all away with awful defence.

If Loz goes in with a spine looking the way it does, Queensland is going to kill us live on Channel 9.

It doesn’t help when nsw has a fullback that goes missing at critical moments.

Cleary is copping flack and he doesn’t do himself any favours by putting his hand up to shoulder the blame.

Your blokes scored 24 points in origin. It’s probably fair to call yourselves lucky for that number, given the nature of a couple and Staggs holding Cobbo back for Marky Mark’s try, but you let 44 points in.

Let’s be honest, we (QLD) have been on top thoroughly both games, and I’m seeing a continuation of last year.

  1. Where on earth is your forward pack? QLD forwards have been on top last year and this year. There isn’t good lengths where NSW are on top, offloading for second phase play, runs out of dummy half, getting and keeping QLD on the back foot. Joey was big on this post-game.
  2. I re-watched the highlights and barely saw Tedesco in any of our tries. There was one he was standing next to Payne Haas like 10-20m away from the try. I hope Laurie keeps picking one-catch wonder Teddy.
  3. A number of selections don’t make sense. It’s very much a team of individuals, rather than a team and who’s going to work together. Moses and Cleary shouldn’t be in the same team. No idea why Martin wasn’t picked.
  4. Why even pick Api
  5. Have a crack at Cleary all you want, being too structured, yadda yadda. Fwds aren’t generating zip, it’s keeping our boys fresh and therefore easily shutting down the structured NSW plays.

A lot of people out there are jealous of Cleary’s success. So, when he doesn’t single handedly win the SOO games, the blame is dumped on him. He can only work with the team he is given. Including a phantom fullback.

When we win the decider at Suncorp and NC simply does his job, he will be lauded over about now being a chance of becoming an immortal. FACT IS, 4 premierships in a row already qualifies him, it’s the media nuffies that need a story - any footy head worth their salt would not be having the “own SOO” convo…with the exception of queen lan (sorry Gogatee lol) supporters who’s job it is to punch verbally…as I have done here

To be fair, if Cleary won the game and the series, he would absolutely be the GOAT, because he’d be carrying the fwd pack.

Him not doing that shouldn’t preclude him from those conversations though. He is an exceptional player. I think some commentary about being too structure is a bit silly. I would have thought you need the ball runners bending the line, making breaks, getting offloads to be able to get into those unstructured moments.

On selections, Jackson Ford is another player. A fwd who is near the top of the dally m, in a side running 2nd. Why is he not discussed?

Now you blokes in a tough spot of needing to make changes whilst also the time you’d prefer not to be making changes. All the reason we are having a laugh :joy:

But anything can happen, it is after all the performance on the night! (or Klein’s :eyes:)
