My thoughts exactly when I heard he had signed for St Marys, he was very much on the verge of a first grade breakthrough when he left us, just needed a bit more strength and bulk.
A good case study on why not to chase the easy money too early.
I have also heard on the grapevine that Staines is desperate to come back too
He is certainly knocking on the door. Upgraded to the development squad, I reckon McLean is only 1 or 2 poor performances away (not that I wish that on him), and Jenko will come into centre with Paul moving to the wing.
Great to see him back, he’s taken every chance he’s been given. It’s up to him now to make a regular spot his own. Given his form so far, I’m sure he can.
I don’t remember him being so good under the bomb, esp.in attack. Some of his contests & bat backs remind me of Critta - and that’s saying something!
Feel sorry for McLean, but I’m sure he’ll be back. He & his brother have got plenty of time.
Poor bugger, we pump his tyres and he plays like he was back in Newcastle reggies, dumb passes, getting in the way, and trying too hard…he has natural ability, he just needs to trust the team around him.
I was surprised that Jenkins was played in the centres and Alamoti at wing. I would have thought it much better the other way around. Having a bit of height on the wing would not have hurt.
He has taken his return to Penrith with both hands.
From St. Mary’s Ron Massey Cup to Penrith NSW Cup, to slotting into Penrith NRL Squad… to a regular starter.
Then put on a master class against the Tigers and now in Origin Camp.
I’m absolutely amazed. Take a bow Tom, your accolades are thoroughly deserved.
Hope to see more of Milky this year. Hard to not give him a starting spot.
