TELSTRA PREMIERSHIP

KNOCK ON EFFECT NSW CUP

JERSEY FLEGG CUP

I am still not sure why Eisenhuth gets the nod in the run on side over Leniu or Sorensen.

He didn’t get the start last week, although he was named as starting. There is a lot of slop in the Tuesday team lists, they are not even close to being finalised. Look for the team List Update on Friday.

Surprised to see JFH & Sorensen named, was under the impression they would both be missing this week.

With Martin and Yeo scratched, it’s out of Hopgood, smith and smith to take their place

Yeo out? do you mean JFH?

Yes , put that one down to stupid auto correct lol

You had me worried. Yeo out while Cleary is already out would be a major impact.

Updated Team List

Liam Martin () and James Fisher-Harris () have been ruled out of Saturday’s match, joining injured Nathan Cleary () on the side lines.

Changes include Spenser Leniu moving from the bench to starting forward, and Chris Smith slotting into the second row, with Robert Jennings added to the 18th man replacement position.

SOURCE

Changes for the Knights too, Kalyn Ponga () was given every chance to play, however, the Captain has not recovered in time from a knee injury.

Is our bench the smallest in any NRL teamlist? It puts more pressure on all the other attributes.

the best thing for Panthers is this is being played in Bathurst

If this was played in Newcastle you would have to suggest they would be favourites but i feel things are pretty even and both teams will get a great sense of where they are at in Round 3 and for the Panthers, will be a true measure of our depth and desire to aim for 2 in a row.

I think Newcastle are vulnerable through the centre and if we can handle their forwards, i think Api will blow them apart and watch for Edwards on his hip.

Edwards for a triple if our forwards do their job.

Not sure the game will be judged a classic but we need to show desperation to get the win.

Like i said, if our forwards get on top Panthers by plenty…if our forwards struggle will be very close.

Despite our injuries I am still quite confident with this game, even if a defeat would mean little at this time of year.

We still have most of our spine present with Edwards, Luai, Yeo and Api.

Add to that the form of Tago, and the potential of Tiny and we have the attack out wide.

The test will be in the forwards, both in making metres and in defense. We have lost two of our best defenders in Fish and Martin.

Hoping Smith, Hopgood, and Spencer all step up.

We also need Kikau on his game. We know he he can bring it.

I’m not as confident. I think we’ll be pushing it.

I’m undecided about how to take the Ponga withdrawal. As good as he is, I feel they play more of a team game without him. It could be a good or bad thing that he is out.

We have the processes that anyone can slot in & do their job. While we are missing a few, I think we will get the job done, although I think it will be close.

that is an interesting observation and is a talking point many make, me included.
yet without key players we did poorly last year and in some of the games we won without them, they were ugly wins

now of course i agree an ugly win is still a win but as evidenced last week when we had changes at half time brought on by injuries we almost lost a game where we lead 20-6 at half time

Maybe its a term which has pervaded supporters verbiage but not sure it is what we are seeing

Today will be a guide to if this is a truism or just a term used by the blind faithful.

We have a lot out and a lot of “key” people.

Knights will turn up for the game big time, just hope the squad we have believes in the our blind faith.

Knights were right into this until a giant dickhead gets sent off and he deserved to be sent off and should get 6 to 8 weeks for what he did.

we were playing dumb with mistakes and penalties until his send off and the game may have changed on that moment of madness.

May made a monster defensive mistake to let them in for their try but our dropped balls and ill discipline were not good either.

I hope Smith is OK but suspect he may have a serious injury.

If we can fix our mistakes and discipline we should run over the top of them but i thought that last week as well.
