Is the backline depth starting to look lean, or are there more juniors coming up?

NRL news 2023 | The Mole: Penrith winger Tom Jenkins signs with Newcastle on eve of NRL decider (nine.com.au)

Any leaner than 2021 when we lost Mansour and found Burton and Momo?

Any leaner than 2022 when we lost Burto and Momo and found Tago and Tiny May.

Any leaner than this year, when we loose Staines and May suffers a season ending injury, and we found Turuva?

Next man up in our back line has been producing the goods

Anyone know why Blacker wasnt given more opportunities in first grade…I was at the game in Townsville his only appearance and thought he played well including a try saving tackle toward the end of the game. Good luck to him anyways

I know there was concerns about his discipline. He has a habit of giving away a few too many penalties, and has spend more than a few weeks on the sideline.

I feel he has a real hot temper as well, gave off real Jack Hetherington vibes, he found it very easy to lose his cool.

Penrith Panthers have named their NRL Squad and Development Squad.

Zac Hosking ⮕ Canberra Raiders

With the unlocked roster spot, and Ivan’s comments about promoting from within, I have given thought to who might replac while in the top 30 this year.

For what it’s worth, I think it should be Sommerton, who is still on a development contract this year. I believe back up hooker is a weakness with the squad as is, as it stands at the moment (although could change), Luke just doesn’t seem ready for first grade and seems stalled in his development.

We do have plenty of up and coming second row options already in our top 30 squad, so I feel this gives best balance.
