I know it’s been a couple of years since a first week home final, and we are playing at Parramatta, but gee they are taking the p$?! With these ticket prices!
To have got my season ticket seat for the final would have cost more than I paid for the season ticket!!
Settled for bay 221.
For any unsure, Panthers supporters are at the northern end
I noticed that there were no seats available in the bays on the southern end of the eastern side. I assume that these have been reserved for the rorters fans.
We got seats in Bay 215, row 15, so just 8 rows back from our regular season seats. Of course, don’t understand for a 1st week ‘home’ final, why we couldn’t get our regular seats.
I actually was able to select our existing seats for this game, but, as I proceeded to payment, the oops, these “seats are gone” popped up!
Anyway, we’ll be there with a good view to cheer the boys on.
The NRL should definitely provide an option for “buy my own seats”. I seem to remember the A League offering that, but it has been a few years since I had to worry about those finals.
I contacted the NRL about this a few years ago. Their response was that they needed to be fair to fans who couldn’t afford a season ticket or couldn’t make every game.
Great reward for those of us who fork out our hard earned, even if we can make every game.
I see that now the ticketted members window has ended, a lot more bays have now opened up. I am not sure why ticketted members were denied access to those bays.
I figure we have to beat the roosters, Wahs and phins to take the premiership, and think I like the sound of a Wahs prelim. They don’t get a rest next week, so will be seeing more fatigue.
There’s been plenty of talk about our halves pairing, and how that is our greatest weakness. But, for me, the point of most concern is having a makeshift centre (Luke Garner). I like him as a player in the back row, but I fear that his lack of pace will be exploited. We saw how Melbourne cruised past Tago, and he is faster than Garner. To’o might end up coming to cover for this, leaving his winger (Toupou) with a free run.
We really have to minimise errors/penalties/guessagains so that the Rorters are limited to long, defensive kicks. If DCE gets a few short kicks to To’o’s wing it could get ugly.
