I would have played Jenkins on the wing, moved Alamoti to Centre and Tago onto the bench. But then I haven’t coached 4 premierships in a row.

Strong squad, with Martin & Henry being the only ‘first-liners’ missing.

Will be interesting to see how the 6 man bench works, and again, further along when the missing 2 are available. It will be a challenge for all coaches to get ‘benchies’ game time during the season.

Bring it on!!! :paw_prints: :paw_prints:

What a game to start the season, I haven’t been this excited / nervous for years - I hope we absolutely blow them off the park and send a message to the comp - BRING IT ON !!!

Updated Team List

Billy Philips come onto the bench for Luron Patea, and Sione Fonua drops off the extended bench.

Jack Cole is the 20th Man tonight.

Tago to bench, Milky to start. Be interesting to see if Milky or Alamotti play centre

Who could have called that? I think it was me.

Good first half. We have dominated possession & field position.

Thought Edwards was the standout, Milky should have no fear of loosing his spot.

that last try assist from Blaze showed how far he has come, and how much he learns from Nathan.

Needless to say we hav to keep it up - we have seen Brisbane blitz us after halftime before

Starting Jenkins would look to be a master-stroke.

Good performance all around. Particularly impressed in keeping the Broncos scoreless.

Get ready for a big year Panther fans!!!

Attack was a bit shit, but defence clearly has been the focus in the pre season. It’s hard to know if it’s completely the broncos being off, or if it was the pressure put on them by the defence. The answer is probably a little of both, but keeping the premiers to 0 is always going to be a good result.

No it sure what’s going on with Izack Tago.

Ivan was a bit cryptic when asked about his demotion to the bench. He said in the post game presser “Izack’s preparation had been compromised a bit by reasons that aren’t his fault.”

He is currently playing in NSW Cup against the Bears today.

Not sure what to make of all of it.

One of the nights we all live for as Panther fans. The boys were on a mission & they came, they saw & they conquered.
Dylan had his best game for a long time & the contrast between him & his opposite number was stark. This pattern was repeated pretty well across the park.
The hot humid conditions made it hard for both teams to have ball control, but our intensity just magnified that for the broncs. In the first 10’, the broncos made very little ground in their sets - I saw numbers like 24m, 32m & 36m - which gave them no field position. It was classic strangulation ala ‘20-24’.
To win, and to keep them to 0, is a great kickoff for the season

Yes Steve, not sure what to make of this. Ivan normally doesn’t say anything that he deems not necessary & when he says something is usually very clear with his words.
He is very different to that dropkick Trent Robinson, who just talks in riddles, so a bit odd i must say.
Hope everything is OK with Izack
