KNOCK ON EFFECT NSW CUP

JERSEY FLEGG CUP

Mildly cautious that it’s Blaize’s first shot at #6, but otherwise feeling positive.

Might prefer to see Toelau at #14, otherwise as good as it can get without To’o.

Let’s hope they can hold the ball and attack with defence.

Mitch Kennys defence will be missed also

How did I forget about Kenny? :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

You’re right, that’s some solid defence up the middle that’s missing.

Updated NRL Team List

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has updated his squad for the Round 6 clash against the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium.

Representative fullback Dylan Edwards has been named to return from a groin injury, while Blaize Talagi will start at five-eighth in place of Jack Cole (concussion).

Mitch Kenny has been ruled out with a shoulder injury, which will see Luke Sommerton start at hooker, while Scott Sorensen returns to the side after missing Round 5 due to concussion protocols.

Papali to start & Smith off the bench, otherwise 1-17 as named.
C’mon boys!!!

Our edge defence letting us down again.

Not sure what Cleary was thinking kicking on the first from the scrum.

I think it’s time for the coaching staff to have a rethink about Casey McLean.

Not up to first grade standard, his flair in attack is undone by his dismal defensive work.

Also, if he doesn’t want to pass the ball, why is he in the Centres?

I think that’s true for both centres.

One puts himself out of position defensively trying to make a flair in defence

The other leaves Jenkins unmarked and screaming for the ball

Can someone teach these guys how to attack?

What did we just watch. Cronk of all people surprisingly explained this the best so far - everything is just off, the new people brought in to replace those that left just aren’t cutting it for whatever reason. All our player losses may have finally broken our system.

Edwards doesn’t look right, he doesn’t seem to be running freely.

We could still go on a run later in the season and scrape into the 8 maybe but if it does happen we are taking the Everest route instead of the cushy top 2.

I guess a haphazard collection of thoughts here, a bit like our attack today.

:mega: Panther Pride Man of the Match voting is now open here.

One thing that was noticeable to me, we really missed Kenny. His direction in attack would have made a huge difference, taking a lot of pressure off Cleary in the opposition 20. His ruck defence was also missed.

Agree miss Kenny in defence and Dylan didn’t look to be fully fit…miss Brian …Jenkins & McClean need to go back to reserve grade build up some confidence prob is who replaces them….awful performance but must say great turn out by Panthers fans at Suncorp tonight.

Well this was disappointing to watch.

In some ways we are still getting worse each week.

Both centres in my opinion are the weak links in both offence and defence. Allamotti and Milky in the centres next week please , if Paul is suspended maybe we have to look to Garner, but I can’t see us persisting with Tago or McLean.

Can’t blame the forwards this week, I thought Leota in particular was excellent.

Blaze was either underwhelming, over awed or just plain inexperienced. A lot of work needed with him.

Not the end of the world, but at this stage we are looking closer to the spoon than the premiership.

I do hope our run of success doesn’t end the way it’s looking to date,

I guess that the salary cap has finally achieved what it was designed to do, weaken a successful club. It just took a few years longer than the nrl planned. It is very unlikely that any other club will be able to achieve what the Panthers have. The good news is that the other nrl fans can go back to hating the storm and the broncos, as it should be.

At this point our best team may be the one that ended up on the field against the Sharks in Vegas - that team while not at our ruthless best still knew how to win and won.

So a fit Kenny and Edwards, Laurie/Alamoti on the wings and Garner!/Tago for centres. Patea on the bench.

Still mind boggling how things felt after round 1 and now - it’s essentially the same team except for some injuries that have happened along the way. Maybe this is what happens with little good depth and new players - over time as injuries bite.

Not looking forward to the SOO season if the incumbents are picked.
