Lockdown Part 2

Ha ha very good, last place I’d go.

We were considering moving out of Sydney (Penrith) at one point, but there is a lot to take into account like moving away from family & friends (& footy) & access to health & other services. We are not ‘beach people’ (the Nepean is fine for visiting water for us) so it wouldn’t be a sea-change for us, more a tree-change, but we have ended up staying put & we will likely remain here, even with the pandemic impacting all of our lives.
Good luck whatever you end up doing - you must be saving a lot on fuel right now

I’ve been looking at getting out too, but a lot depends on where I can find work. My preference is Blue Mountains or Southern Highlands, although South Coast, Riverina & Central West also hold some appeal, possibly even Western Victoria.

Maybe if we had done a short, sharp shutdown of the Eastern Suburbs when this all began, we wouldn’t be in this mess now. 🤷

Wouldn’t matter Mutley, idiots will be idiots, the problem is society has achieved the desired result of softly softly…gently gently…i.e. everyone gets a trophy

If we had the old school society of rules are rules, and you need a desire to win, maybe as a “group” we would have beat this together…unfortunately that is not the case…A sad Australia if you ask me.

well Gladbags has gone missing today from her press conference (come to think of it so’s Anastasia).

NSW Health Vaccination Eligibilty Checker is a total waste of time if you are 17 yrs of age.

Isn’t it time to allow those who want to be vaccinated an opportunity to do so in favour of those who haven’t bothered fronting. I’m sick of waiting my turn.

Big yahoo today advising of a student hub for HSC year 12 students (some of which will still be 17). Oh and get this, vaccination is not mandatory amongst these students. My bloke 17 yrs of age (year 11)won’t be returning to school until at the very least, they allow him a protective jab. As it stands, this may be for the remainder of the year, which begs the question, why bother going back at all.

Well, Anastasia comes back on board in time to announce the end of lockdown in SEQ. Coincidence? I think not.

Exactly. But ‘Teflon Glad’ was too politically afraid to even mention the ‘L’ word.

Some towns in the Penrith LGA have been added to the tighter restriction lockdown list in NSW. It is not a full LGA lockdown, but you could imagine it’s just around the corner.

The towns affected are Caddens, Claremont Meadows, Colyton, Erskine Park, Kemps Creek, Kingswood, Mount Vernon, North St Marys, Orchard Hills, Oxley Park, St Clair, and St Marys.

356 cases today, up from our previous best score of 319. How good are we going?

Seriously, the rules are no longer being followed. I was in Nepean Square Coles Sunday, 2 Huge European looking units walking around carrying their masks, advertising their distain for the rules…I thought about saying something until I saw Coles staff walking around without masks also, but the staff had a badge that said exempt :flushed:

So if you have a medical condition that says you don’t have to wear masks, does that also nullify the transmission issue…We as a society are a bunch of hypocrites !!!

I’m seeing it all the time at work. The rules don’t apply in the Eastern suburbs!!!

I actually have a medical exemption for a mask (struggle to breathe in a mask for any more than a few minutes at a time because of severe asthma), but still try to wear it when I can, and avoid other people as much as possible.

Dubbo LGA will be in lockdown from 11am. Hasn’t been officially announced yet…

Mutley, don’t you have a big petition separating you from the public?

I don’t have an issue per se re masks not being worn for medical (was it hard to get, the couple i saw didn’t look to have ANY issues) reasons, but as you stated you can do it for a minute or 2, the fact the staff couldn’t mask up from back room to checkout before getting behind the petitions is the hypocritical part.

Q. How often do medical reason non mask wearing people have to be tested? The reason I ask is, if they have Covid regardless of their condition for not wearing a mask, do they not become a super spreader…

I do have a barrier between me & passengers, although it doesn’t completely close me off.

At this stage I don’t have to do any extra testing, because where I work & live aren’t hot spots, but that could change.

We have actually been talking about getting rapid testing at work, for every driver, every day (the 15 minute tests), but so far nothing.

I’ve been trying to get off on special leave, due to not being able to wear masks for long periods, but at this stage I haven’t had any luck. They might have a legal case on their hands if I get Covid. Luckily I’ve had my second jab, so if I do get it, it shouldn’t be too serious (according to the experts).

The hotspot issues raise further complexity, Penrith surrounding areas are in heavy lockdown as hotspots…

I’m reading the family of a baby girl killed in a tragic accident when her mother dropped her after tripping to avoid a swooping magpie have been denied permission to attend her funeral because of COVID restrictions. Isn’t this lockdown shit goin too far ?

FFS you’re allowed to mingle at the closest Woolworths to buy (essential) supplies providing you wear a mask and there’s one of ya!

Meanwhile the NRL rolls on. Humanity is taking a backward step in Brisbane if you ask me.

Man’s inhumanity to man? Where to begin?
