Rumoured Player Movements

Looks to be mostly confirmed… just need to wait for the cooling off period to take place before officially announcing.

Just on Bizza, initially i thought it was complete bullshit - but there surely must be something to it, if Brian himself didn’t just come out and immediately hose it down. If it is a money thing, hopefully the club can find room to keep him - blokes a Penrith Immortal and should never leave the club.

There is no doubt that fans think Bizzas contract should be bumped up. His rep status would suggest it should also. He recently signed an extension with the club, bust as it was with the same club, very little was said about the dollars and cents involved.

His manager must believe it should be higher. I do wonder if the “shopping him around” was more of a “know your worth” exercise and not a desire for him to leave Penrith.

Maybe the powers at Penrith should look into moving some money around for him.

The problem is that being a winger means playing for less money. Zac Lomax would be the highest paid winger at the moment at $700k ($650k next year). I’m not sure what Penrith paid him, but I would imagine he is close to one of the highest paid wingers in the game.

Western Weekender’s Nathan Taylor went to the source. All the speculation has been over nothing.

All this rumour mill is just a lame attempt to rock the boat regarding our 4th premiership in a row bid

Have heard that Isaiya Katia has been talking about returning to Sydney. He is contracted until 2028, but may be released on compassionate grounds. Would it be worth trying to lure him home?

It would be worth trying to lure him back, but there are many much more likely destinations for him in Sydney with the Cap space to afford him. (Roosters)

Might be a bridge too far and with whats going on with DCE at Manly, they will be going in hard on him. Might even go for a straight swap with the Dolphins.

Interested in your thoughts on a few playmakers who seem to have fallen out of favour (although still with length to run on their contacts);

Cogger (Newcastle), obviously knows our system well and could a lot right back next to Cleary

Dodds (Souths), with this weeks team naming he seems to be 3rd or 4th in the pecking line.

Townsend (Dragons) dropped this week, a bit old and never a top flight half in my mind, but if anyone could get the best out of him it would be Cleary snr.

Not sure of his contract status or form, but I would take back SOS in a heartbeat too

News on the airwaves Fifita is to come to Penrith from GC for rest of 2025 & beyond

If that is the case, I hope the Titans are paying almost all of his contract.

Agreed, Dufeyz. Of course,we all know that you meant to say “Sombrero space”.

I mean if he comes at the right price why not. I don’t think he is the problem at the Titans, more a toxic culture issue. At his best he is a beast. Having Leota an Fafita starting and Lindsay and Henry off the bench will help sure up the issues in the forwards left by JFH.

I have never understood the way the titans use Fifita, as a left edge backrower. He is a big, powerful body who perhaps could play more like Paas in the middle, which is I think what you are saying Steve.
He never seems to get involved enough, and could bring much more to a team than he does in most games. He has ball skills, good speed for a big man & is powerful - a good coach perhaps could unlock those attributes?

I think Penrith may need to keep an eye on 2028 as we might have to look for a new halfback. Mary Fowler had stated recently she highly doubts she will be moving home base back to Australia (which make total sense considering her career options). I may prompt Nathan to think about his future beyond the end of this Panthers contract, ending after season 2027.

He might be looking at options to end his career in the UK Super League, to hook up with Mary. It’s going to leave quite the hole at Penrith, I would say maybe luring Luai back to Penrith would be a good option but he has signed a 5 year deal ending in 2030.

If they are still together in 2028 I will push a peanut from here to wagga with my beak. It’s a big ocean for our lad, surely both their needs are NOT being met and the temptation at every corner will play a part.

Romey has get out clauses in his contract. The only way I can imagine he is still there to the end of the contract, is if he just so bloody minded to not leave, to stop people saying he was wrong to go there in the first place - the old “I told you say” brigade. That of course doesn’t mean he will be back at the Panthers.

I am hoping against hope they are still together then, just so we get to see Kevin doing the peanut push :joy: :joy: :joy:
